About the Artist
"Ayukîi (Hello),
My name is Casey Pederson, I'm a Karuk and Yurok tribal member and reside in Humboldt County in Northern California. I'm an indigenous artist who uses my culture and upbringing with my community as the inspiration for my artwork.
I was lucky and blessed to work with Rogue River Trading. We came together with a goal to make a fabric artwork that represents tribal designs of Northern California to Southern Oregon. You do not typically see these designs that represent our people when it comes to tribal designs with wearable fabric tribal artwork.
You will see tribal designs that are specific to our people such as Frog Foot, Bearpaw, and Butterfly to name a few. I'm happy to design something that will be worn by our indigenous community that will represent us where you typically do not see our designs.
Yôotva (Thank you)"
